Without the state studs there would only be half the number of all donkeys and cold-blood breeds which exist today. However, in France as much energy has also been invested in modernising horse breeding and adapting it to new aspects of sport and leisure riding. Modern technology in the insemination and efficient customer service for breeders and riders are just some of the many strategies being implemented in an effort to make the state studs more efficient and thus able to survive better.
