ESSA Conference | ESSA is not an abbreviation for a new holding or group of companies – it stands for "European State Stud Assembly", the affiliation of stud directors of European state studs and traditional studs who are seriously concerned about the continued existence of the historic studs, their horse breeds and also the utilisation of the historic buildings for horse breeding. The Directores of the European State Studs meet each other once a jear to take charge of publicity work and the profile of ESSA as well. They discuss their problems, try to find solutions and help each other.

ESSA Members | A cooperation network between the European State Studs has been set up with the aim of gaining recognition for the European State Studs as a European cultural asset. The Directors would like the studs to exchange information and support each other with mutual help.

European Championships in Mannheim | With a quadrille with 80 stallions from European State Studs at the Gala Evening of the FEI European Show Jumping Championships in Mannheim, ESSA presented itself to the general public for the first time. A photo exhibition with impressions of European State Studs by the artist Gabriele Boiselle shows the different breeds of horses and historic buildings which ESSA would like to preserve. This exhibition is intended for display at important sport events throughout Europe and, supported by appropriate information material, to draw attention to this living and unique cultural inheritance.
